The Bhagavad-Gita

Ch. 2 – Arjuna Asks Krishna Why

Arjuna
warrior-prince
does
speak
then to Krishna
god above
asking
questions

wondering
why he is supposed
to slay his fellow
brethren
there is no hate
in his heart
maybe
they can
stop what
has yet to fully start?

Arjuna
explains
seeing his family
and friends
brothers
and cousins
grandfathers
and grandsons
all lined
up
both sides
the same blood
the same world
same Cosmos
flows through
our plasma-veins
and souls

Why o Why
must we fight?

he does ask
Krishna
with all his heart

lets see the response
to this inquiry
of mortal reality
and try to follow
the best
we can to understand
higher heights
of wisdom
and game-plan

With his hands
trembling
not out of fear
but non-desiring
Arjuna questions
Krishna

“I see no value
in killing my family
won’t you please
enlighten
me
as to why we should
battle
rather than abandon
these aforementioned
violent
suggested
gesticulations
and lacerations?”

Teachers and sons
Students no-guns
needed
we can resolve
this thing
without violence
I believe
it
you Divine being
certainly can guide
me towards
the light
compass-right
let’s
go
toward what is right
