In White by Robert Frost

The spider
backdrops over the white snow
weaving its web

“Oh, Hello.”

“Hello, to you.
How do you
do you mind if we skip
the pleasantries?”

I’m trying to find
a meal to eat
an insect
a victim
of unfortunate chance

we can’t all lie around
all day
Ms. Happenstance

well then the snow
was rebuffed

but what do you expect
a spider to do?

Good day to you
a parting of words

The spider and the snow

it could be worse
